Family Pass Customer Reviews |

I found Family Pass (when it was in business!) to be a great company, although it was a bit confusing when they just simply went out of business. My girlfriend emailed them and let them know she paid for a year(?) and it was approximately $50 she would be out of. Family Pass promptly wrote her a check (still with no explanation of what happened).
Family Pass SHOULD have kept their site up, at least, with a note of what had happened and what people could do to be paid back, or whatever. Oh well.
It did have great movies! Key word here is "DID".

It started out pretty good but they went OUT OF BUSINESS without letting ANYONE know... i think it is a bad example of a company who distributes "family friendly" and "good moral" movies. i still had 5 months paid for that became void after they deceived everyone and went out of business without even one notice of closure. |

I joined when it first started for videos to help with home schooling and Christian videos. The turn around time for the videos was just to long so I canceled. Now I have Blockbuster which is excellent. Blockbuster now has in stock most of the excellent videos that are hard to find (like Creatures that defy evolution) and are also stocking movies for homeschooling. Turn around time is excellent. I really like their customer service very willing to please. |

Gone Out of business! Took the money and ran! I had 6 plus months left on a 6 DVD out at a time rental plan (I had to make a special call to change it from 3 to 6 out at a time, three months ago and they never mentioned a word). No refund, no word from this company. Wow, really great christian witness! This is a sister company of CBD.com (no matter what they say, I sign up through CBD, when family pass was still Mentura), call them and let it be know how unhappy you are! 1-800-247-4784 |

I hope if you wrote recently that you'll think back to what made you decide to enroll for a year. There's not another service like this one around! I'm not content with Hollywood movies that are edited, with genres such as gay and lesbian. At least I could let my children pick out some movies they wanted to see without worrying about what else they might encounter.
I find it hard to believe that they simply closed their doors. I'm wondering if someone has somehow hacked into the website and put up this message. I plan on contacting someone in person about this before I believe what I see on the computer. Their list of movies, esp. the inspirational and educational ones, is extensive. I'm unhappy that I can't receive any more movies right now, but I'm willing to look into it to see what's happened. Any suggestions how to go about that? |

My family and I loved "Family Pass". They had great family movies. However I have rated it poor because, as the last customer stated, they are no longer in business....Did not let us know at all and, we as well, paid for a full year! Honesty and Customer service is obviously not one of their priorities because we don't even know how to contact them...AWFUL :0( |

We started out with Mentura as many others. Renewed our subscription in December 2006. Came to find out that they ceased all activities on May 17 without any warning, requesting all rentals back. I am sorry to say that I won't send anything back until I get a refund for 7 months of subscription.
I renewed because they had a great pallet of titles that were great to help with home schooling our daughter, although the turn around time of the DVD was kind of slow. It took up to two weeks to get the next DVD.
Ceasing business without warning or refund goes to far!

As Gary from Los Angeles commented, Family Pass has ceased operations as of May 17th. No notice, and seemingly, no refund. We have 6 months remaining on our plan.
Was a great way to have family movies, albeit slow...and too many movies on short wait (which lasted for months).
But, to just remove everything and request movies out to be returned....right....you owe me $75 on my plan and I'm gonna worry about getting a DVD back to you?! Please.... |

Good content for family DVD's. Unfortunately as of May 17, 2006 they are no longer in business. No warning to any of their customers. We bought a 1 year subscription and lost 10 mos of it. |

Started with Mentura, which became Family Pass over a year ago. Enjoy getting family and educational dvd's in a family environment- not blasted by obsence or demonic advertisements at their website.
The que works good, obviously highly desirable selections take longer. The educational dvd's would be expensive to buy and are not available anywhere else. Great selection of G and PG movies and cartoons! Keep up the good work! |

Extremely long waits on any dvd's we request. Over priced for how few dvd's we get for such a long wait. |

This morning it's working again for about 5 minutes then the same thing happen. the message "run time error" appear to often i don't know if anyone is working on this to fix this bug, but i can't even open it up to pick my movies.
this is the first time i have problems with the website, unlike Netflix, Blockbuster, Greencine, etc.. |
