Fatso.co.nz is a new zealand based dvd rental service with the motto 'all the dvd you can eat'. The site is really stripped down, and is very easy to understand. Their searching is excellent allowing you to find movies based on Title, Actor, Director or Category. The browsing and renting options are great too. Like most companies there are no late fees, no due dates and postage is pre-paid both ways.
Fatso offer you three rental plans, and the pricing is pretty good.The standard 3 DVD's a month plan costs £39.95.
Fatso offer new zealanders a free 14 day trial, so there's nothing to lose - try their service, see how it performs and decide if you want to cancel or become a fatso. Just remember if you want to cancel the free trial to return all dvd's and cancel by the 14th day. Cancellation can be done online from their site.
DVD's are sent from Auckland, so if you live in or around that area you may expect to have a good turnaround of dvd's. But as always, the speed of delivery depends on location and how good new zealand post are :)

Quite unimpressed. Free trial and it took 4 days of that before they even posted the first dvd's (they arrived next day). On the morning of the 4th day after posting back the first dvd with no new one having been posted I cancelled and intend to try another company.
Essentially 3 DVD's in 2 weeks. |

They were good at the beginning, they sent me the first 3 DVD's superfast but then I sent the DVDs back a day later and then it took them almost a week to get them movies processed. I was on the "FREE trial" plan which went through quite quickly, at least I had expected I would get more than 3 movies out but that was not the case as they took too long to process that the movies have been returned. I don't recommened them. Had the same problem with movieshack at the beginning very fast then they start slowing down. |

fatso were easily the best of the 3 companies I tried. Their turn around times were really super fast and they have a feature that lets you tell them online when a disc is returned to speed up delivery.
I also used Movieshack for a while but I didn't really like their site and their selection was too small. DVD unlimited were bad, i hardly got any dvds from them on my trial |
