This is a very bad company. They have a totally unacceptable record with the bbb of Oakland Ca. What this company has put my wife and I through is 4yrs of Hell. There is an arbitration clause attached to their contract so if you have to fight them later it is tough titty if you think you can win a settlement against them or so I have been told by their collection agency that took 200.00 away from me(they originally demanded 500.00) Its a long story one that actually started from govojo. I plan on besmirching their name as much as I can. I even found their ceo's name "Clyde Jones" (courtesy of bbb) who lives with his mommy still even though she seems to be a decent person. Bottom line... I was f***ed. I was too stupid to fight it then and now too much time has elapsed, although I tried in vain to contact g-play and govojo. Oh well... such is life

Gplay has been bought out by Gamefly. When you try to sign up for an account, you are redirected to the Gamefly site. So that really sucks because in order to cancel an account with Gamefly, you have to call in and then they pressure you into not cancelling. |

I was a customer with GPlay for 3 years and just canceled today. They used to be great, but their service lately has been horrible. The first problem was that the games I was receiving were far down the list in my queue even though others higher ranked were shown "in stock". The biggest problem has been their turnaround. They received in my last games two weeks ago and never sent replacements. I have sent several e-mails with no response (even though they guarantee 48 hours). They supposedly have a live chat support that is never available. They must be having some internal problems and I recommend for everyone to steer clear of them. |

Yup...everyone is right about G-Play. I have the 2 out at a time program which worked OK for the first couple of weeks but is terrible now. I can't remember the last time they showed me out with two games. They just stopped mailing me the second game, PERIOD. I have tried to contact them by email twice, and they refuse to respond. You really are asking for trouble with this company. I am ending my service (I was only on it for 2.5 months) effective my next billing cycle. Stay away. They obviously are in trouble or something. |

Good site, and since I live in the same town as the company, the turnaround time was good.
However, even though a game in my queue might be listed as being "in stock", consistantly, the game that was sent to me was one of the less desireable games listed at the bottom of my queue. So, it would look like they had new releases available, but I would only ever get older games from 2-3 years ago.
They need to be much more upfront and honest about the status of a particular game. When I filled up my queue so that it was only recent releases -- all of which were listed as "in stock" -- they never sent me a new game to play. Clearly it was not "in stock". Who are these people who think I am going to give them money when they are so dishonest with their customer? |

I understand the 3-5 day turn-around time, but sending games from the bottom of your queue list is ridiculous. Not only do they send the games from the bottom of your list near rank 44 priority, they send you the game you've put on your queue that are poor games most of the time. Don't count on GPlay to send you all the hottest games that are out or even the hottest games that have been out for like forever. They offered me to come back for 5 days, no charge, but I declined without hesitation. GameFly has been the best service I've had, but I've lost some games from them (probably post workers, hard to say what happened), but I'm going to try GameLender next. |

Please be aware about this online game rental. Very poor customer service and email responses!
I signed up for the free trial. Later, that same day I tried and logged into my account. Surprise.. GPlay.com says that my email/account does not exist in their system.
So, the next day I finally got Live Support and I talked to a girl there and she assured me that my account was not setup completely. And she assured me that my credit card will not be charged. I even sent GPlay.com a cancellation email, but no response from GPlay.com. Surprisingly, after 10 days, GPlay.com authorized a charge to my credit card. I sent them many email regarding this, but no answer. I even gave them my phone # so that they can call and explain why they authorized charged to my card. This would be considered an unathorized charge by the bank and considered FRAUD! But no email responses and no phone calls. Next step is to file with the police about this unauthorized charge.
So, take it from me.. GPlay.com is terrible with customer support and email responses! |

Absolutely stay away. I first signed up the free trial when they started, the policy was that trial would begin after first queue was sent or placed. I have never placed any queue so I thought my trial had never started, and therefore my credit card would have never been charged, and I did not bother to cancel the membership. Then I received an e-mail saying my credit card had been declined, at that point I realized they have been charging my credit card. I wanted to call them up and give them a fit, but there is no phone number you can call, just cantact by email. Yes, I am partially to blame for not checking my credit card statment more carefully, but the way they conduct the business was totally unscrubulous. |

At first they were great, pretty fast turnaround, Recieved the newest games...that has since changed however The last game I recieved was returned to them on August 9th. Since then I haven't recieved ANY games...People should really stay away...I don't think they are so much a scam as incompetent.... |

well i tried the free trial and didn't find out anyting bad about this company, i can't be sure since it's only for 10 days
they send me one game at a time for the 10 days trial
i've the chance to receive 2 games in 10 days period
took 2 days to arrived and 2-3 days for returns.
so i notice to problem there
except, well it's took about 2 days for a response from customer service, and when you cancel you have to email them if you want to cancel not like netflix, wich just do it through the website. |

Worst online game rental service ever. They are a scam. I signed up for the free trial, after a week they still haven't sent out anything. I still have time left on my trial but I am cancelling ahead of time so they can't try to scam money out of me. I'll go back to gamefly.com instead! |
Jon from Wyoming on 2005-09-08 Rates them:
The absolute worst on-line rental services I've ever used. Not only is their shipping painfully slow (four days to get one game, while Gamefly only takes two), sometimes they won't even bother shipping your game out at all.
I had a queue of six games, all listed as In Stock, and they never shipped out any of them. I wrote an E-mail to customer service about this, waited a week, and didn't get a response, even though they said all queries would be answered within two business days. When I finally used the live chat, I found out that In Stock just means that they have a copy, not that it's ready to be sent out. The In Stock games are sent out in the order of who put it on their list first. So even though I had six games, and every single one was listed as In Stock, I NEVER recieved ANY of them, even after waiting TWO WEEKS. Whenever you put a game on your queue, you have no idea whether you'll be getting it in a day or a month.
G-Play has been the biggest ripoff of my life. |

I remember getting 5-slots for $30/month -- $6/slot -- at triggerfingers. 2-slots for $20/month is $10/slot. Almost double the cost. And the games? They don't come. I've had 2 slots open for a week now. One game came, and it was from the bottom of my queue.
I sent this link to their support. They need to know they suck. |

It is a shame that I did not see these comments in time. It all sounds like deha vu. It has all happened to me with this dreadful company: games sent from the bottom of the queue list (while many good games are 'in stock', or so they claim, delivery takes more than 10 days. They claim to have received a game, and it was a miracle I got one in the first place, but another one was sent only when I was finally able to get a phone number to call to complain. By the way, this game was at the bottom of the list also! I had originally signed with GameFly but because of the distance, I'm on the East Coast, I decided to try someone else. BIG MISTAKE! Now I will cancel 2 weeks in advance because I do not want another charge from them. Service sucks! Their live chat is never 'live' since they are always unavailable. It's email tag with them. STAY AWAY FROM THEM! |

If I could give a score of 0 on this site I would, because G-PLay F-ing Sucks, I can't believe i've been this patient with them, Their send out of games is so slow a snail could get from G-Play's company location (which is in Oakland,CA)to my house even before they send out a game. And I live in Manteca,CA mind you, which is only about 3hrs away from Oakland. So if it takes them a long time to send me a game its going to suck for everyone else farther away. Best thing to do is to stay away from G-Play don't believe the good reviews even from customers cause they're probably employees sent to give good reviews and some professional reviews were probably paid off...I would believe it!
P.S. Please does anyone know of any good online gaming rental gaming services I can't trust google Professional Reviews on this one because G-Play got the Silver Award...GameLender got the Gold but I can't trust that after G-Play PLZ HELP ME!!! |

Why oh why didn't I find this website sooner? I made the mistake of signing up for Gplay's "free" trial a few weeks ago. I added 8 games to my queue, waited almost a week and never received any email from them saying that my 2 games had been shipped. I became frustrated so I decided to go ahead and cancel my free trial, since they hadn't shipped my games anyway. I logged into my account on the website and cancelled. I found out that can't cancel effective immediately, you have to send an email to them (via the form on their website) and request your account cancelled. I did so, and received an auto-reply in my inbox stating they would read my request and get back to me within 48 hours.
Not even 5 minutes after that, I received another email from Gplay, saying that they had packaged the first game in my queue (a game that was nearly last in my queue, by the way) and was in the process of shipping it out with the next batch of shipments. Keep in mind, I had waited almost a week prior to this and had not heard a single word from them regarding the games in my queue being shipped. I figured it was too late to write back and tell them to stop shipment, since they acknowledged that they take up to 48 hours (I'm guessing it probably takes even longer) to read and reply to customer emails.
So I finally received the game, 4 days later, and return it the same day. They acknowledged that they received it, and then proceeded to charge my credit card for a FULL MONTH OF SERVICE!!!! I called my credit card to dispute the charge and explain what happened. The lady told me that wasn't the first time she has been contacted by someone regarding Gplay. I was worried that they would charge my card yet again the following month, so I ended up having to cancel my card and get a new one with a different card number.
I have rented online from several retailers before...Wal Mart, Netflix and Blockbuster video. And I also rented from Gamefly for a few months. I never had any problem with any of those companies, nothing like the horrible service I experienced with Gplay!
If you are reading this and haven't signed up for Gplay yet, PLEASE take the advice of everyone here and don't do it! You will most likely regret it if you do. |

Been a member for 2 months. I live in the same town as the distribution center. When they ship a game, I get it right away. They also receive my game within 24 hours. The problem is, they don't ship out games fast enough. I just get a canned response that they are behind. I haven't received any games for a month and I have a bunch of games in my queue that are in stock. They have great reviews on google. That should be changed. |

Hi, just wanted to tell about my experience with Gplay.com. A really bad experience. I first subscribed to the 14 day trial that they have. I put 6 six games to my queue list. They send me the very last game from my list. A very old game Project Gotham 2 . I send the game back the next day after I received it. They send me a confimation email that they received the game and in 48 hours or less they will send me another game from my list. 6 days passed and nothing came. On my 13th day at 11:00am of my free trial I cancelled my order. The next day I received a confirmation saying that my account was cancelled. I tried to log in and confirmed that my account was actually cancelled. When I checked my credit card balance guess what, they charged me a full month. 21.95. Hope you can make a change to the reviews so people dont get ripped by this Gplay people.
Thanks |

TOTAL SHAM -- and the sad thing is that they scam most of their customers who end up cancelling! We all need to begin reporting these guys to the BBB.org!
Turn-around for their games took a dismal 7-10 days to the east coast. After dealing with this for 2 months, and receiving the same pre-canned email responses, I cancelled my account and immediately mailed my last game back to them. Two weeks later, they're attempting to charge my credit card because the claim then never received the game. BOGUS! SCAMMERS!! STAY AWAY! |
