turnaround times are slow and not consistent. the website has a strage bug with the priorities of your wanted dvd list (I currently have about 10 dvds in the same spot on my list)
i wouldn't stay with this company if their range of dvds wasn't so impressive |

Average website and slow turn-around(interstate). The trial was okay but I prefer the other companies. |

Even in Sydney, delivery was far too slow. They indicated dispatch on Fri 8-Apr and DVDs did not arrive until Wed 13-Apr. Said DVDs were returned on Thu 14-Apr but were not received by WebFlicks (according to their website) by Tue 19-Apr when trial service was cancelled... At those rates, there is no way we'd receive other DVDs and return them by the end of trial. Not worth bothering with! |

I recently attempted to register with Webflicks for their free trail period. Normally when I fill out a registration form I do not give out my phone number. To satisfy the automatic online registration's need for a number I usually fill in the field with "987654321". This makes it abundantly clear to any staff checking my application what is going on, and until now I have never encountered any difficulties. I say until now because I have, over the past week had the most extraordinary experience trying to register with "Webflicks". The person or persons handling this matter have to this point refused to accept my registration despite my clear and expressive protestations in the exchange of several emails. He/She/They claim "We need a contact number to call you on if there is a problem with your account or if discs go missing etc". A poor excuse considering they have two seperate email addresses and my residential address. I seriously doubt if they are within their rights on this, but either way it seems an extraordinary way to operate a business - refusing a potential customer's patronage over so small an issue. So far, I have only been able to contact the one person via help@webflicks.com.au. Their attitude is strange indeed, perhaps sarcastic and it seems likely that this person(s) is, to put it bluntly, "playing silly buggers". At this stage I have no intention of giving out my phone number to them and I am both curious and determined to see just how far I will have to go to get this thing done. If the good people at DVDrr.com are interested in this little saga please feel free to let me know and I will keep you informed of my progress.

I have used webflicks and they were ok but no better than any of the others to be honest. I have chosen my provider and i am sticking with them. So all you out there try them all and make your choice. 1 hint choose a site thats has humans on the other end not endless automated emails. As for Phill's comment sounds like he works webflicks. As for Leighton he is just a name on an emial and does not exsist so I have been told lol. |

Not good if you're in WA - it took 6 days to get my first DVDs. By the time I'd watched them and sent them back, I couldn't get any more in my free trial period. (They all have to be back before the trial period ends, unlike with some other operators who give you seven days after it has ended).
The actual site and choice of movies are pretty good, so if you're in the Eastern States I'm sure they'd be better a sfar as delivery times go. |

I think Webflicks is a good site but no better than any of the others. At the end of the day find one in your state/city for best turnaround. Some even do city delivery's so if you work in the city that would be a good option. At the end of the day try them all and choose the one your happy with. |

I signed for a 30 day trial on a $39 a month plan. The service was very slow. I only received 9 dvds altogether. It took way too long for the dvds to arrive. Actually, it would be cheaper for me to go to the video store and hire dvds. |

I have been using webflicks since April 2003 and I have hired in excess of 270 titles. Although I have also used FetchMeMovies, the reason why I stuck with webflicks comes down to 4 or 5 points.
1) DVDs are well packaged in that they are contained in a clear plastic sleave inserted into a reusuable reply envelope. The significances are that the disk surface is free of any damaged caused during handling / shipping. I found Fetchme disks had a scuff marks which makes the DVDs look 2nd rate. I like the idea that the reply envelope is reusable. Leighton, the proprietor has had some forethought when it comes to wastage and disposal.
2) Very rapid turnaround times. Living in the same city as the distribution point means that movies flagged as being sent on the website are usually delivered within 24 hours. The only thing is that the updates to the website occur at really wierd hours and the emails indicating dispatching have a send time of approx 6am.. ??
3) Group management is great for a number of people in the house and the software attempts to ensure that each member of the group is given their turn when titles are dispatched.
4) TV shows are dispatched in correct sequence. The software is designed to take this into account, the only trap is that if you have Season 1 , Season 2 and so on on your wish list at the same time, the software cannot distinguish this and may send out disks from two different seasons at the same time.
5) Leighton the proprietor always welcomes feedback, adverse or otherwise. I have made suggestions which he is attempting to make available and although he does not personally correspond in the AUS.DVD forum, he does always reply to an email. |
